New York State Insurance Pre-Licensing Courses: A1 Real Estate And Insurance Institute is approved by the New York State Department of Financial Services to provide Insurance pre-licensing, continuing education courses and monitor provider for Insurance Professionals in New York. Students must register one week before the start date of all classes in order to take the class. 1. Title Insurance Agent License(Series 17-81): NY State Approved pre-licensing course. Title Insurance Agent License in New York State, an applicant must complete a New York State approved prelicensing course for Title Insurance Agents and pass the New York State Title Insurance Agent examination. The person must complete the pre-licensing course prior to sitting for the State examination. Title Insurance Agent Course Price: $500.00
2. Property & Casualty Insurance Agent/Broker (Series 17-56): NY State Approved pre-licensing course. This course requires 90 class room hours to meet the New York State regulatory mandate for 96 hours of prelicense education. This class should only be taken if you need both a commercial and residential Property & Casualty License. The person must complete the pre-licensing course prior to sitting for the State examination. Property & Casualty Agent/Broker Course Price: $850.00
3. Personal Lines Insurance Agent (Series 17-54): NY State Approved pre-licensing course. All students must complete a minimum of 43 hours and receive a passing grade of 70% or higher on the final examination in order to receive a course completion certificate. The person must complete the pre-licensing course prior to sitting for the State examination. This course will cover the topics such as Insurance Regulation, General Insurance, Property and Casualty Insurance Basics, Dwelling Policies, Homeowner Policies, Personal Auto Policies, and other coverages. Personal Lines Course Price: $500.00
4. Public Adjuster (Series 17-62): NY State Approved pre-licensing course. This course requires 34 class room hours to meet the New York State regulatory mandate, 3 hours exam and 3 hours mandatory review class. This course allows one to become knowledgeable in all forms of Property & Casualty Insurance and to address all claims except auto damage claims. The person must complete the pre-licensing course prior to sitting for the State examination. Public Adjusters Course Price: $500.00
5. Life Accident & Health Insurance Agent/Broker (Series 17-55): NY State Approved pre-licensing course. This course is a combination of self study and class room to meet the NY State Regulatory mandate for 40 hours of pre-license education. Required Home-Study Assignments must be completed prior to the start of the class. The review class is required and the course completion certificate will only be issued to students at the mandatory review class. Make up exams may be scheduled anytime up to and including the Review class. Life Accident & Health Course Price: $350.00
