The Current New York Real Estate Continuing Education Requirements - Lecture Courses: All licensees must successfully complete 22.5 hours of approved continuing education. The education must include at least 2.5 hours on the subject of ethical business practices, at least 1 hour of recent legal matters, at least 3 hours of instruction pertaining to fair housing and/or discrimination in the sale or rental of real property or an interest in real property, 2.0 hours Implicit Bias, 2.0 hours Cultural Competency and at least 1 hour of instruction pertaining to the law of agency except in the case of the initial two-year licensing term for real estate salespersons, 2 hours of agency related instruction must be completed within the two-year period immediately preceding a renewal. Note: A recent legislative amendment REMOVED the 15-year real estate broker continuing education exemption and now requires all brokers who were previously exempted to complete continuing education starting July 1, 2021. 1. 3.0 HRS Fair Housing and Human Rights. This course is offering as a Real Estate Continuing Education Credits for licensed Salespersons and Brokers to renew their license. Any real estate licensee who renews their license must have completed 22 ½ hours of approved continuing education, three hours of which must include fair housing and/or discrimination in the sale or rental of real property or an interest in real property. This course covers basic fair housing principles which salespersons and brokers are expected to know and practice. The course also examines the Federal, State, local and regulatory codes that shape fair housing as we know it. 3.0 HR Fair Housing and Human Rights Course Price: $30.00
2. 3.0 HRS Agency Law. This course is offering as a Real Estate Continuing Education Credits for licensed Salespersons and Brokers to renew their license. Due to a recent statutory amendment to the Real Estate Property Law, effective January 1, 2017, any real estate licensee who renews their license must have completed 22 ½ hours of approved continuing education must include one hour of law of agency. If a salesperson is within their first license term, they must complete 2 hours of agency along with the other designated educational hours. This change does not apply to those licensees who are exempt from the continuing education requirement 3.0 HRS Agency Law Course Price: $30.00
3. 3.5 HRS E & L - Ethical Business Practices & Legal Matters. This course is offering as a Real Estate Continuing Education Credits for Real Estate Professionals to renew their license. All licensees must complete this course including 2.5 HRS of ethical business practices and 1 HR of recent legal matters. 3.5 HRS E & L - Ethical Business Practices & Legal Matters Course Price: $35.00
4. 2.00 HRS Cultural Competency. This course is offering as a Real Estate Continuing Education Credits for Real Estate Professionals to renew their license on or after September 21, 2022. Real Estate Professionals need to develop and improve professional skills, trust, and competency when working with consumers of diversified backgrounds. 2.00 HRS Cultural Competency Course Price: $25.00
5. 2.00 HRS Implicit Bias. This course is offering as a Real Estate Continuing Education Credits for Real Estate Professionals to renew their license on or after September 21, 2022. 2.00 HRS Implicit Bias Course Price: $25.00
6. 3.75 HRS Ethics. This course is offering as a Real Estate Continuing Education Credits for Real Estate Professionals to renew their license. 3.75 HRS Ethics Course Price: $35.00
7. 3.0 HRS What Every Landlord And Tenant Should Know. This course is offering as a Real Estate Continuing Education Credits for Real Estate Professionals to renew their license. This class will review and outlines the rights and responsibilities of both tenants and landlords in NEW YORK CITY buildings, and primarily pertains to buildings with three or more apartments. Not all housing laws and regulations apply to all landlords and tenants in all situations. Rights and responsibilities may vary, depending, for example, on the type and size of housing, whether the housing is rent controlled or rent stabilized and so on. Senior citizens (people 62 years old or older) have special rights, as do eligible disabled tenants. But every residential dwelling and everyone living in it is subject to the provisions of New York City's Housing Maintenance Code. 3.0 HRS What Every Landlord And Tenant Should Know Course Price: $30.00

9. 21.0 HRS Property Management. This course is offering as a Real Estate Continuing Education Credits for licensed Salespersons and Brokers to renew their license. Also this course will teach the skills include leasing, selling, rent collection, maintenance, marketing, budgeting, tenant relations, and property improvement as a property manager working for property owner. 21.0 HRS Property Management Course Price: $175.00
